Payton is 4 years old and loves and has always loved music. She is always singing, playing notes on the piano, or banging on something to make some form of music. She has found a new love for piano. Grandmother showed her some basic fingering and how to play "Jesus Loves Me" which is also the song Bear use to play way back when he was so new to her as a baby. She began to play this song over and over to where she now has it memorized and was interested in more songs. So while we were working on some daily homeschool activities I printed out some basic sheet music from Free Printable 1st Pieces Piano Music and put them on the piano. In a very short amount of days...make that 2 she was playing songs such as "Ode to Joy" and "Aura Lee (Love Me Tender)" and "Chopsticks" and eager for more.
She has been so excited about her piano playing that she can't walk by the piano without playing a song or a note or showing us her new discoveries. Then on Wednesday, August 11th, 2010, Grandmother came to visit to play a duet with Payton. Payton was so excited she waited by the window because she had been practicing for this moment and couldn't wait to show off her work. At bedtime, she was ready to go back to see Grandmother for more piano lessons so she can be great and then Daddys will teach her to play the guitar too.
Just a note... This Piano was once my Great Grandmother Della Johnson's Piano and now my daughter is playing on it. Special Special Special. :)
I will now share some of her musical soundings....
